Your Family’s growing story [Canberra wedding and portrait photographer]

After having Mabel I appreciate more than ever the importance of family portraits. You little ones grow so quickly and it is easy to get caught up in the day to day routine of life and forget to document the little things. I know as I often get caught up and forget to pull out the camera. (I can also get caught looking through the viewfinder too much and forget to be in the moment but that is another blog post for another day I think).

We live in an age where just about everyone has some sort of camera. It has never been easier to create images. These images often get left on the camera/phone and I bet sometime they don’t get downloaded to the computer for months or they get uploaded to facebook only to be seen for a nano second and not again. Prints seem to be a thing of the past. I fear that our collective history will disappear into the facebook abyss. Facebook is a great way to share your images with friends and family but it is not an archive. Prints in books and albums while they may appear old fashioned are real and tangible and can be viewed at any time without the need to hook up to the internet or power. My money is on the prints and albums lasting longer.

I also believe that it is important to set aside time and money every year or 2 or 3 to invest in professional family portraits. This is a way of YOU being able to get into the picture and for all of you to have a special time together.  I believe in creating prints and books and giving you a tangible solid momento of your portrait session. Yes I will sell files but not exclusively. I also love documenting families as they grow from year to year. It is a big factor in why I do what I do.

Please contact me me to have a chat about your family’s story and how I can become your family’s photographer.

Cheers Lindi xox

Here are a few images I created of my little family over the last 22 month. (thanks to Hilary Wardhaugh Photography for the images of the three of us)
