I am a highly experience and skilled Professional Photographer. I have been in business for over 20 years. I studied photography at the Canberra Institute of Technology graduating at the top of my class and was awarded an Institute Medal. I have been an Accredited Professional Photographer (APP) of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) since 1999. I have won numerous AIPP awards locally and nationally over the years and I have served the industry as an ACT AIPP council member from 1999-2008 and was ACT AIPP President from 2005-2008. I am a Licentiate Member of the AIPP and am an AIPP Master Photographer (M.Photog 1).
I have created numerous photographic assignments and projects for magazines, for businesses, government, and organisations, and numerous private portrait and wedding commissions.
I am a Portrait Photographer. To me a portrait is about sharing the essence, of a person, place or an organisation. I love creating images that help businesses and organisations tell their story. This involves creating images of all sorts of things like the space, the people, the textures, the colours, the little details, products and activities.
I am Teacher. For the last 20 years I have also taught a range of photography courses from short recreational courses at PhotoAccess, CIT Solutions and privately, through to professional photography courses at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) including Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Degree levels. From 1999-2003 I was the education program manager for PhotoAccess. I am currently employed by CIT as a part-time photography teacher for their suite of professional photography courses.
